$80.00
16-amino-acid mitochondrial-derived peptide studied in metabolic and AMPK signaling research, 10 mg lyophilized. (C101H152N28O22S2, MW 2174.6 g/mol) Research Use Only.
MOTS-c 10 mg
MOTS-c (Mitochondrial ORF of the twelve-S rRNA type-c) is a 16-amino-acid mitochondrial-derived peptide (MDP) encoded within the mitochondrial 12S rRNA region — among the best-characterized MDPs in mitochondrial-signaling and metabolic-aging research.
Research background
Unlike classical nuclear-encoded peptides, MOTS-c originates in the mitochondrial genome and is studied as a signaling molecule that communicates mitochondrial status to the rest of the cell. It has been investigated in metabolic homeostasis, exercise physiology, and the cellular stress response.
Mechanism studied
Research implicates MOTS-c in the AMPK energy-sensing pathway and in regulation of metabolic flux. Under metabolic stress it has been observed to translocate to the nucleus, where it is studied for influence on antioxidant and metabolic gene programs.

Reconstitution & handling (research use)
For laboratory use, reconstitute the lyophilized powder with bacteriostatic or sterile water to the desired stock concentration for research handling — e.g., adding 2 mL of bacteriostatic water to a 10 mg vial yields a 5 mg/mL stock solution. Store the lyophilized powder at −20 °C protected from light. Keep reconstituted material refrigerated (2–8 °C) and use within a short period. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
Research Use Only (RUO). This product is supplied strictly for in-vitro laboratory research. It is not a drug, supplement, food, or medical device, and is not for human or veterinary consumption or any in-vivo use. No dosing, administration, or therapeutic guidance is provided or implied.
